Growth Group Sundays- Nov. 17 and 24.
We will meet in person with our Growth Groups over these two weeks. If you are not in a Growth Group, we will assign you to one. If you are in the Barnabas Group, you will rejoin your original groups for these two weeks. This will be a good time to reset yourself and get back on track. Come and enjoy a few days with your groups!
Adult Ed. News for December
We welcome back this December two previous teachers, Dr. Kerri Tom and Dr. Jeff Held, who will lead us through studies that examine the poetry and music of the Christmas season. Details on these studies can be found below.
The Mystery, Memories, and Music of Christmas - Sun. Dec. 1-15
How have poets imagined and responded to Christmas in the past? Join us as Dr. Kerri Tom guides us in our exploration of medieval, Renaissance, and Victorian poetry that reflects upon the beauty of Christ's birth and the means by which we celebrate it.
Ways to Hear the Wonders of Weihnachten with Wassail while Waiting around the Weihnachtsbaum - Sun. Dec. 22
Expand your sacred music listening palette this Christmas season. Jeff Held will share numerous carols in different formats from different traditions. We will hear examples, discuss the text, and do some singing in 4-part harmony! And as a bonus, you can ask him anything about the Concordia Christmas Concerts at Segerstrom Hall (www.scfta.org for tickets)!
Save the Date: Advent by Candlelight - December 8th
Please sign up on Sunday morning, or on the website, to join the women of Light of Christ Church for a beautiful candlelight afternoon tea on Sunday, December 8 from 2pm – 4pm. The doors will open promptly at 1:45 pm. Registration Questions? Contact Brenda Ruehs at bruehs.loc@gmail.com.
Adult Ed. Survey
We'd like to have your feedback regarding studies of interest for Sunday morning adult education. Therefore, we developed the below online survey for you to take. The survey is not very long and should not take up more than five minutes of your time. Thank you in advance for your participation.
